The Voter’s Creed

Tags: Voter-039s Creed

There is nothing more inspiring than the valiant efforts of our people in the services, throughout American history, to current-day. For those American citizens who have not participated in every election opportunity, or don’t participate at all, they have done themselves, the people in our services, and their fellow citizens a true dis-service. The honor to vote to keep "liberty, and justice, for all" is a practice we should all appreciate and treasure.

With that in mind, I want to share with you "The Voters Creed" which was inspired by the "The Creed of a U.S. Marine" (which the story goes, was written shortly after the deadly attack on Pearl Harbor by Major General W. H. Rupertus, USMC, Ret.).

The "Voters Creed" was written with the hope that it will also inspire, encourage, and excite every American about the FREEDOM to vote; a freedom that was paid for in the loss of many lives throughout our history. We have a freedom others can only envy. Keep your freedom by voting.

Share the creed with a friend you know who doesn’t participate in the election process, for whatever reason. Send the URL to them to read; print it out and hand it to them; inspire them to change their non-voting way to make our country stronger. I hope you enjoy The Voter’s Creed – feel free to provide your feedback on what you liked, disliked, or felt could be added – this is America and your voice can and should be heard!

This is my vote. There are many votes like it, but this one is mine.

My country is my life. I must master living my life in my country by learning the purpose and reasoning of my vote.

My country, without my vote, is useless. Without my country, without my ability to vote, I am useless. I must stand by my vote and to my country be true with my vote. I must be true to my country more than others may be to theirs. I will…

My country and my country-men and women know what counts in this country is not the protests we are free to hold, nor the noise of politicians, nor the fanfare they make for elections. We know what counts is the one vote we place for the most qualified candidate for office, as they will guide the path for the continued health and prosperity of our country and its citizens. We will vote, for we have seen in elections one vote CAN make the difference…

My country nor its politics are perfect, even as I, because it is a fact of life. Thus, I will learn my country’s weaknesses, strengths, government branches, and structure of federal and state offices in order to cast the best vote possible. I will ever guard my country against the ravages of poor politics and damage of questionable politicians with my vote as it will ever guard my government, my country-men and women, our children and our future against harm. I will monitor and help keep clean our government to be at the ready to help America and its people in the principles of justice and common honesty with the power of my vote. We will become part of each other. We will…

Before God, and my fellow country-men and women, I swear this creed. My government and myself through my vote are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our Republic and control the destiny of these United States with our vote for its elected officials. We are the saviors of our land.

So be it, until America is safe and there is no enemy, just peace and prosperity! ®
