“THE” Issues on American Voter Minds – Poll Results
Tags: economy, health care, immigration, iran, Iraq, Poll, the issues, warAs reported on the CNN Political Ticker site, the CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll released Wednesday morning found the following about "The Issues" on American’s minds.
The top two items:
- 82% of Americans said the economy will be extremely or very important to their vote for president.
- 80% surveyed said the war in Iraq is ‘extremely or very important’ to their vote.
Seven other items of respondent’s concerns:
- Health Care 76%
- Terrorism 76%
- Iran 73%
- Gas prices 67%
- Poverty 65%
- Taxes 63%
- Immigration 61%.
(The telephone survey polled 1,024 American adults and had a sampling error of +/- 3 percentage points.)
From the Presidential-Race.net perspective, the survey REALLY boils down to FOUR main elements to which the candidates can focus their discussions, proposals, and plans on AND keep it simple.
- Economy
- Current Middle East Issues (Iraq / Iran)
- Health Care
- Immigration
Reasoning: The Economy (82%) is highly correlated to Gas Prices (67%), Poverty (65%) and Taxes (63%). News on Terrorism (76%) and Iran (73%) typically influence or directly relate to supply and price of a barrel of oil. All the elements impact the Economy of these United States, which in turns influences the balance of world economies.
