"NEW YORK – Passengers on a plane leaving New York could see three words in 4-foot block letters painted on an East Village rooftop terrace as they ascended: GOOGLE RON PAUL. The entreaty to search the Internet for news of the Republican congressman from rural Texas is one of the more visible signs of enthusiasm from a do-it-yourself base of Web fans. Their support doesn’t show up in public opinion polls, but it’s unmatched among presidential candidates in its passion.

On their own, the fans have developed a Ron Paul Revolution logo, marketing the idea through YouTube. Message boards and Web sites debate his virtues."

A commentary by yours truly @ Presidential-Race.Net, and follow-up to the original post at Presidential-Race:

In any recent poll, Republican Congressman Ron Paul comes in less than 2%. Interpret that to mean there is less than 2% of the population in the United States who takes polls that are idealists to a fault. Ron Paul lacks the cajones to be a direct, charming, but forceful leader.

Hello?! Anyone awake in these United States? We’ve had Bill Clinton Politically Correct the general population to a fault, who cheated on his wife (remember Monica? And one can only imagine why Hillary was stupid enough to stick around), cut faulty deals behind the scenes, weakened the U.S. on the political scene due to his shenanigans, and….well, I digress. Needless to say, we NOW need a straight-forward, honest leader who has the stamina, drive, and knowledge/connectivity to sway (or pull) the House and Senate in the right direction to get us to the next level of growth, while able to charm and influence the international community. Sorry to say, this isn’t gonna be Ron Paul – he’s too mousey (sorry Mickey) and laid back.

Japan is economically perched to eat the U.S. lunch, while Korea is poised to eat the socio-economic prowess of Japan. It’s a dog-eat-dog world, and we haven’t even started talking about low-wage countries just entering into the global-competitive fold.

So Grant, Ron Paul (RP), RP "Revolution" followers, and Googlers – give it up, and choose a leader with more fortitude. You would have a better chance at supporting a superior choice by "spinning the wheel". You are wasting your valuable energy, limited resources, and finite funds for a candidate wanna-be that should have already withdrawn from considersation. Texas may be big, but Ron Paul isn’t. Get-a-life.
