Healthcare Proposal “War”
Tags: Barack Obama, Democrat, health care, Hillary Clinton, Republican, the issues, warDemocratic presidential rivals Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton kick the verbal rhetoric "up a notch" over healthcare Wednesday, both accusing the other of not being clear on the issue.
Clinton claims Obama’s plan does not cover all Americans, and has not fully informed American voters of his proposals limitations.
Clinton supports a plan which mandates Americans to have healthcare; the plan requires insurance companies to offer coverage to anyone who applies.
Obama’s plan is not a mandated plan, but does require coverage for all children. His plan would create a national health insurance program for those who do not have employer-provided health care and who do not qualify for other existing federal programs. He also believes his plan will lower health costs more so than plans proposed by his opponents.
Obama criticized Clinton for calling for a healthcare mandate while not saying how it would be enforced - and asserts her "plan" is more of a political point versus a real point.
So while the Democrats fight it out amongst themselves, are they also looking over their shoulder to the Republicans to watch what they are proposing for a health-care remedy? Regardless, voter, this is ONE of the main ISSUES that will certainly play an important role in the upcoming 2008 elections. Consider your choices wisely!!
