Pennsylvania Democrat Philip J. Berg, who filed a lawsuit demanding Sen. Barack Obama present proof of his American citizenship, now says that by failing to respond Obama has legally “admitted” to the lawsuit’s accusations, including the charge that the Democratic candidate was born in Mombosa, Kenya.

As WND reported, Berg filed suit in U.S. District Court in August, alleging Obama is not a natural-born citizen and is thus ineligible to serve as president of the United States. Though Obama has posted an image of a Hawaii birth certificate online, Berg demands that the court verify the original document, which the Obama campaign has not provided.

Now Berg cites Rule 36 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, which states that unless the accused party provides written answer or objection to charges within 30 days, the accused legally admits the matter.

Higher priced barrels of oil, less driving (7th month decline in a row, with a monthly decrease of 3.7% – the third-highest decrease since the U.S. started driving), and less gas consumption to off-set personal, limited budgets…and as a result, the tax revenue that pay for roads,  bridges, and transit project has suffered and faces a $3.1B shortfall.

What is big-bro considering doing?  Not raise taxes (thank goodness).  Why, throw technology at it – of course!  And at your expense of FREEDOM!

How:  Add a "black-box" to every new vehicle that will track your driving habits, how much you drive, when you drive, where you drive, and how often.  Then you get a billing every month from the Fed. for your "transportation services", which you will pay the government.  Sounds like lock-and-chain GPS doesn’t it?

Why: On the surface, to sustain funds (albeit another form of taxes) through a recurring monthly basis (this is what businesses do).  The unstated reason – to be able to track anybody, anywhere, at any time if and when THEY deem it necessary.  I’m sure it is being reported as MERELY another tool in the toolbox of security monitoring.  We’ve seen similar instances throughout history, then the track/check system was readily abused for personal or political reasons.

SCREAM!! and make sure your presidential candidate choice DOESN’T support this proposal that will ROB YOU of YOUR FREEDOM.  YELL!! to make sure your Senate representative does not support this measure!!  INUNDATE your House of Representative with calls, letters, emails to STOP THIS planned tracking.  What’s next – tax your iPOD, iPhone, Wii, or Playstation 3 as a media service?

WASHINGTON – In announcing the introduction of legislation aimed at preventing illegal aliens from getting driver’s licenses yesterday, a North Carolina Republican member of the House of Representatives casually dropped a bombshell that went over the heads of most of the media covering the event – that three members of al-Qaeda were recently captured trying to enter the U.S.

That’s new typically filtered out at the big TV and Cable networks not only by the stations themselves, but by the government itself and at various levels.

News like that would certainly sour the American people on another of the NAFTA supposed (read that as bullshit) benefits. Guess if the driver(s) were Mexican truckers the gov. would do everything in it’s power to keep the lids closed on that info.

The tunnel is a truck bypass that runs beneath eight lanes of I-5, the main West Coast interstate, linking Mexico and Canada. It is also a major route from Los Angeles to the city’s northern suburbs.

Trucks use the road to haul produce from the Central Valley into Southern California and to move goods from the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach into the state’s north.

"In June 2006 the federal government began Operation Jump Start, deploying 6,000 National Guard troops to assist the Border Patrol in securing our border with Mexico. Now, the number of National Guard troops helping as part of Operation Jump Start is being cut in half and by September 1st only 3,000 troops will still be in place.

Since Operation Jump Start began, fewer illegal immigrants are crossing our southern border. Marijuana, cocaine, and heroin seizures have increased—a reminder that better border security is an essential part of drug interdiction. Tightening control of our southern border may also be a factor in the lack of additional terrorist attacks in the United States since September 11, 2001. Clearly the National Guard’s presence on our border with Mexico has been a success.

While the drawdown of the National Guard troops participating in Operation Jump Start was scheduled since the beginning of the operation, the troops were supposed to be replaced by 6,000 new U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents. These replacements, called for by President Bush, would increase the total number of agents from 12,000 to 18,000. However, recruitment has been slow and continuing with the planned withdrawal of the National Guard is significantly reducing manpower on the border.

We’ve found a successful strategy for increasing border security. We need to advance it, not retreat from it. The President got the message and last week announced a new set of initiatives to combat illegal immigration. Having failed for years to solve our illegal immigration problem and protect our borders, however, Congress and the President need to keep the National Guard in place until we meet the goal of 18,000 border agents."

This has not been a good week for e-voting companies. First came the report out of California that the security had problems on every machine tested by independent security experts, followed quickly by security experts finding problems with other machines in Florida. This should come as no surprise. Every time a security expert seems to get a chance to check out these machines, they find problems. What was odd, though, about the announcement on Monday coming out of California, was that the state had only released some of the reports. It left out the source code review. However, late Thursday, the source code reports were finally released and things don’t look much better. Apparently all of the e-voting machines are vulnerable to malicious attacks that could "affect election outcomes." The report also points out: "An attack could plausibly be accomplished by a single skilled individual with temporary access to a single voting machine. The damage could be extensive — malicious code could spread to every voting machine in polling places and to county election servers." This, of course, is what others have been saying for years, and which Diebold always brushes off. Ed Felten has gone through the reports and is amazed to find that all of the e-voting machines seem to have very similar security problems — and that many problems that Diebold had insisted it fixed in 2003 were still present. Remember how Diebold had used the master password "1111" in their machines? Now their machines use hard-coded passwords like "diebold" and (I kid you not) "12345678." At some point, isn’t it time for Diebold (and the other e-voting critics) to stand up and admit that their machines aren’t secure and, in fact, were never secure? At the very least, the company owes the world a huge apology — but somehow, given its past behavior whenever its machines are shown as insecure, that seems unlikely to happen.
